An IdeaStar "Major Award" Leg Lamp Winner

February 9, 2007 - Jay Manifold Jr. of Woodmen Insurance Agency in Omaha (pictured) is the winner of the IdeaStar "Major Award" Leg Lamp. Jay's entry card was pulled from many in the drawing recently at the Inter-Company Marketing Group (ICMG) Annual Meeting in Florida. What will he do with the lamp, a spin-off product from the 1983 classic movie A Christmas Story? Jay chuckled and mentioned something about his daughter might want it.

ICMG brings together insurance carriers and distributors who arrange deals on new products and marketing relationships. IdeaStar provides Web development services to those who want to get their insurance products and business practices online. It's a perfect match.

IdeaStar presented the “Major Award” leg lamp as a means of drawing attention to its own major awards earned for Web-enabling insurance processes. For instance, together with client MemberHealth, IdeaStar received the 2006 Best of PIMA Award for the development of communitycarerx.com as part of the Professional Insurance Marketing Association (PIMA) Marketing Methods Competition. The Medicare Part D enrollment and information Web site is versatile and easy-to-use. During the award presentation, the PIMA judges noted the Web site is "cleanly conceived, cost effective, and very successful," with over 100,000 online enrollments.

IdeaStar also achieved Finalist Status in the A.M. Best E-Fusion 2006 competition, also for communitycarerx.com. The site features a Medicare-approved drug plan offered and sold online by our client. Site visitors can sign-up for the program, locate participating pharmacies, view various plan details relative to their home state, look up drug prices in their area, review policies and procedures, and more.
